I realise I'm reaching by extending to include a condiment but I can't think of any vegetables starting with "h".

Its still a vegetable! I had a friend that used to grow them... and make em in to the most potant horseraddish sauce I've ever had Pity if its the end of this month I don't think I'd be able to come as I'm otherwise engaged pity not been to one in yonks ooop North

Think it was so named the horseradish cause horses uused to eat it well I pressume* it is (the thing that grows in the ground and which is turned into horseraddish sauce) is called a horseraddish whilst in its unadulterated vetgetable state hang on... I don't think that made any sense
