Can anyone here do readings? They can be a lot of fun.
I've done readings on myself, and I've done readings on others (Not very well)but I've never had anyone do a reading on me.
I can't relate to the Rider deck, so I sat down and identified the main elements within each card, then went through role-playing cards like "Magic, the gathering" and chose symbols for each. These seem to work better for me. I relate to the images more completely.

ive been learning on and off for a year or so

I talked to a woman who'd been doing it for 15 years. She's the one who told me to chose my own images. I like the creepy pictures.
Tell you the truth, for some reason I get the best readings out of the deck I made and a regular deck of playing cards. She told me it would be like that, and she was right.
I've been at it for about 2 or 3 years now...I think I started around October of 1999, but it could have been a year sooner. I remember using the income tax check for 2000 to buy 3 different card decks and not connecting with any of them as well as the old Bycicle deck.I'd been doing readings for a while before that.
I'm not strongly psychic, though. Mostly, I pick up on things in dreams, or just feel them. And I see things, like dark shadow people (just before a bad event in my life),or a light in or around someone, or people's images. I have often wondered if they were ghosts or just memories. Maybe just my imagination?
Do you have any of these things happen to you? Both of my sisters and my mother do this as well, but our family doesn't like to admit it.
I was in my 30's before I found out about some of my mom's experiences.
What's it like for y'all?

lol x ...i have sensed things yes..but i wouldnt say im strongly psychic either. once or twice ive done a reading with a normal pack of cards without thinking about it or anything..and came up with some surprisingly accurate things!.what your saying about choosing your own pictures etc is about developing your own intuition.

It helps. I also find 2 other things;
one, that if I don't do readings regularly, I have a dream or see something, Like it needs an outlet, and
two; my readings seem to be more accurate during the dark of the moon.

Strange!...these things are i suppose eh!What do you man by dark of the moon..? is that when its waxing ,waning, new ,etc?
The moon is said to influence the mystical though isnt it .
Ive yet to find a deck of cards that really does it for me..(ive had 2,both destroyed by my son!!).my first deck was the Thoth tarot (the ones designed for Aleister Crowley),didnt like them much at all! there was a little invocation (god knows what it was iinvoking but it sounded pretty sinister!and knowing crowley!,,lol)to do before you read them..i only did it once cos i really scared myself .You say youre not that psychic, but from what you say about sensing things,"ghosts"etc,id say your quite psychic. Ive alway felt things rather than seen them .Years ago used to walk a certain way to a friends house, a certain house i passsed reallly terrrified me..to the point i dreaded the walk to her house..especially at night ,the energy was really strong. When i told my friend she went n spoke to her mum, her mum thenn said that years ago someone had gone mad and murdered there kids then themself there! (i hadnt lived there anywhere near as long as my friend had so i wouldntve known that)!..creepy!

about the house; you picked up on its history before you knew it had one. I'd call that very psychic!
I know what you mean about the A. Crowly deck. I tried it,too: GeeZ!
talk about your bad vibes! I threw mine away after only a week. The only card in it that didn't creep me out was the Chi symbol. I've always had an affinity to change cards and symbols.
I read about Crowley. He sounds like a bad joke, but for 2 things; that deck and this guy I spoke to recently, who goes to school near a house Crowley owned. He says the house is EVIL. It's like old Alistair was a dork, but he was some kind of a bad-magnet. Darkness sought him out and he liked it. Me---I'd get a blessing and become a nun. And, I'm not catholic. But if I attracted the kind of negativity that he seemed to, I'd convert and live in a church, or something!(Only half kidding there)
Yep, the moon is suppose to influence psychic abilities. The dark of the moon is when it is waning, but I really mean the nights on and before the new moon, when it isn't visable. I think it's the change from waning to waxing, or decreasing to increasing, that does it. When do you have your strongest moments?
Did you ever see dark, sillouette-like figures near that house? They're suppose to be around negative energy, like it draws them. If you ever do, get away from wherever they are!

I never saw anything no..i just used to get a really bad feeling, like real real terror..! it would start coming on a few mins before i passed this particular house..,get worse, then slowly fade off . sometimes i can pick up on other peopls moods..i mean actually feel their feelings to an extent..but its always just that i feel something rather than see it or get any definate information.
Your Shadow figures reminds me of a real creepy dream i had once n have never been able to forget, As for when my strongest times are..I honestly dont know..! i know i shuld really look into it and try to develop my intuition(i believe its something we all have..but like ny muscle it needs exercise n some people r "fitter"than others!)but i havent so far..never got around to it i suppose like so many other things! and in a way ithink a part of me is actually scared to!
If I remember rightly, Crowley was a member of the golden dawn, but wet off on os own and ot into the black arts in a really big way,got up to some real nasty stuff!and yeah those cards were all creepy!
Think in general the tarot card i find most disturbing is the hanged man ,dont know wht iit is about it though. And my avourite is probably strentgh.

Do you think it would be possible to do on-line readings?

Goddess of Purple 7s Posted Aug 29, 2002
I wish I was psychic. But I don't think I am, *pouts*. I've had a few creepy experiances like once I was looking for something and I dreamed where I had put it and that was where it was when I woke up, but that was probably just my subconscious. A few others but they really can be explained by me being observative or just knowing a person well. It's too bad I think I'd make a great psychic. Oh well.

I know what you mean. I`d like to have that gift too. Mind you, i suppose there`s a down side to it too. There would probably be a lot of stuff you didn`t want to know about

Serephina Posted Aug 30, 2002
Ive done readings on the phone n online before and theyve not turned out too bad
Goddess Of Purple 7s...hiya ,not seen you around here before..nice to meet you .i wouldnt say im a great psychic either..just a little n only sometimes!... You said about things being more your subconcious than anything else..but thats a big part of what being "psychic" is about..listening to those gut instincts and "feelings"that we all have and usually ignore.

Reviving this thread too, because Tarot's another interest of mine...
I learned tarot using the Rider-Waite deck about... two years ago. I've never had any particularly psychic experiences, but I've done a few readings for myself, and they were fairly accurate. I definately think that there are forces out there beyond our comprehension, and somehow, we seem to be able to tap that using Tarot.

you need to learn the tarot, theres the ttext bok interpretatons(or guideline meanings)for all 78 cards(often 5 r 6 meanings to a card!),the astrolgical connections etc, plus how each card relates to the others in a spread, (some weaken each other, some strengthen etc),as well as the spreads themseves.of coourse for your readings to really be any good..you need to work on developing your own intuitions...meditating with the cards or sleeping with each in turn are good for this. ive been learning about them n practising reading them for a couple of years now
and still have a long way to go. as for where to find them..its easy these days as theyre more popular than ever n many different style decks are available.
