Shame you weren't here a couple of weeks ago... one of our consultants threw out his chair because it was worn out. (there was a little fray on a corner).
It was replaced by a very - *very* - nice leather chair... must be worth a arm and a leg... and a kidney...
The boss in the lab did similar - his chair was "broken", and needed replacing. I offered to dispose of it for him. Once home, I replaced two screws, and it's good as new! Big, swivel, tilting high back chair. Worth, I guess, £70 or more. Got it for the price of two screws... (sits back and waits for the smut crew to pick up on that comment)...
