I have a huge aversion to advent calenders with chocolates in them! Dunno why, I think its because as kids we never got them and so on the plain ones, the only reason to open the door was to see the picture inside. On the choccie ones, the picture is almost obscured by the plastic tray inside.

I was in the UK last week for a wee holiday and you should have seen the hassle I had trying to get a plain one. A young assistant in Woolies looked at me as if I was mad when I asked for one without choccies and asked me if there was such a thing!!

You can still get the plain ones here, in bookshops for instance, but boy, they are expensive That's why my kids either had self-made ones, ot´r the ones with the

I managed to find one in a little card shop, it wasn't very expensive but it is a bit childish. It's got dancing snowmen on it!!!!

Well - that's probably because it IS for children ?

Is it? I've always had one and I'm nearly 33!! Christmas just wouldn't be the same without one!

My mum still gets them for me and my brother Im bad though n tend to eat all the chocs at once, but then i've also been known to peek at my presents and re wrap them

We use to have an advent calendar at work, and although we're only 10 people, I've only ever got to open one door, hence get one piece of choc
