R.G.W - And at no point during this outing did I run the risk of being cool... [temporarily or possibly permanently missing] Started conversation Dec 3, 2003
Couple of random thoughts and things. Read it. It's quite entertaining.
MUSE
Muse were supported by Elbow and another band I didn't bother learning the name of. Twas mildly entertaining. I spent the entire lead up to the main event harassing the poor man next to me. I didn't mean to. I just... sort of... was irritating. Lucy told me to tell him to take a photo of us. Which was embarassing. I then elbowed him several times. I then discovered my coat was stuck down the side and had to put my hand down by his leg and pull it free (I am talking about the COAT)... he stared at me whilst I was doing this. Trying to explain I stuttered "I'm not trying to touch you up, don't worry, I just need to get this out" which did nothing but evoke laughter from the whole row. Har. So that was fun.
Fantastic concert. The LED screen was pretty impressive and Matt's knee slides went off without a hitch. Oh, and his singing was top notch. Chris fell off his little platform. Which looked somewhat painful. But he carried on, to play that lovely little solo in Time Is Running Out. There was a Plug In Baby sing-a-long. The man in the next row, two seats back needed help. Extreme air guitar that resembles not so much a guitar as a constapated gorilla. There were also some drunk 50 year olds who were doing some serious 'moshing' towards the back of the standing area. Tres amusant. Apart from Matt's excessive use of the word 'cheers' everything was brilliant. And to top it all off, I found a builders hat on the way home...

Knife or razor?
BALLET
I went to see the nutcracker. Ahem. This title takes new meaning later. Anyway. I was enjoying myself emmensely. The scenery was amazingly pretty, the characters well performed and interesting, the story was so magical... until the nutcracker came on. It was a man with a giant bin with a nut cracker face painted onto it, who pranced onto stage with gusto, he was wearing a painfully large leotard and happened to have... how should I put this... a really big... *pained expression*... he was 'well endowed' shall we say. Let's call him 'Richard'... (we'll see if anyone gets that) From that point on, everytime he came on stage I had to look away or I would have starting laughing out loud. Then the rats came on. Dear god, it was a test. Their masks has a phallic quality to them, and when they fell on their backs and started shaking their legs in the air, I couldn't help it and started having a fit of silent surpressed laughter.
Ah dear. Why is it that whenever I go to the Royal Albert Hall, the people sitting next to me are always... unusual? On my right was a man who obviously was only here because he was trying to get his date into bed with him, which is fair enough, I wouldn't have minded, except for the fact that he was so utterly boring and loud that I wanted to shove the programme up his backside. "Did you know that taxes are inflated but actually at a smaller rate than last annum at 00.45 %?"
Then to Lucy's left (yes, Lucy is my conjoined twin) were two gay men, who were part of a larger group of more gay men, totalling to about 8. I couldn't help but noticing that whenever 'Richard' came on stage, they started stroking each others thighs. I'm not exaggerating. Every single time 'Richard' was jiggling about they started to get rather excited.
Another interesting point worth noting, is that at a ballet, one is very unsure of when to clap. Do you wait until after every sequence, or after every peice of music? This point was illustrated by the fact that when a public announcement was read out, everyone started to applaud. I didn't realise until later that most of the people there were American, Russian or French, so probably didn't understand what it meant.
DVD'S
I purchased a copy of NIN 'And all that could have been' LIVE a while ago, and only recently have I sat down to watch it. I've also ordered my copy of Lichtspielhaus and hopefully I shall recieve it some time this century.
BOREDOM
Y'know what's fun to do when you're bored? Try typing your h2g2 name into the search engine and doing an Advanced Search so it looks through all the conversations. Apart from my own conversations... there seemed to be a certain group of people who just couldn't stop using my name. Damn Atari, just so you don't get your hopes up, there was no sexual element in my handcuffing you. It was merely so I could leave you there to rot. *inane grin*
HAIR
Hmm. My hair has turned green. An interesting development. Note to self. Buy more black hair dye.
EXAMS
I have a day long practical Science exam on my Birthday. Lovely.

When is your birthday? you poor thing
Poor Chris! He was fine in Exeter, luckily, no serious damage. Matt looked so chuffed that everyone liked him, it was so cute! And he said happy birthday to Dom, which was also cute (8th December)

Ah I'm in my own surreal world, i have my sister here singing about boiled eggs in a cowboy accent... next to that almost anything is normal.

How odd... Any reason why she's singing about boiled eggs in a cowboy accent?

cinnamon_spider Posted Jan 22, 2004
my sister needs no reason to sing odd things. She's her, that's the only reason...

What a brilliant reason that is. Better to be a crazy person than a norm...

Well, did you?
We got some, apparently. But I was near the sea at the time and not in my home so I didn't see it.
