Here's an old posting of mine which might interest you. I've been bashing away trying to get H2G2 to issue astrological glyphs in its GuideML. I was trying to write an entry on astrology but saw no point without access to appropriate glyphs and plasanetary signs. Then lo and behold you visited me about your interesting research, and to see you had got there before me. Hope you didn't mind but I've duly pasted 2 of the relevant signs on my home page. Wingdings, eh? If I can help with in any shape or form I will duly oblige.
"Daily newspaper and magazine horoscopes are usually read by those who have not studied astrology and are quite content to take what they read at face value. Many people are also oblivious of the crucial fact that personality and outer adaptation are governed by one's Ascendant or rising sign (i.e. the zodiacal sign appearing on the east horizon at time of birth; there being on average a new sign every 2 hours) and not by one's Sun sign (which has more to do with one's energies and resources for action). Basically, the planets are concerned with psychological drives whereas the 12 zodiac signs are related to disposition (i.e. give the particular direction of action and behaviour to the specialised functions represented by the planets).
I also feel that many people treat horoscopes as fortune-telling, taking what they read too literally and predictively, as if things are pre-ordained or fatalistic. Instead, it is much more subtle and the birth chart can only show potentialities and, within the limitations of the chart's framework, we all have free will to choose how our potentialities are developed. At least this is what I believe.
It would be interesting to take a poll on researcher's Sun signs. Who do you think would come top? Aquarians, Pisceans, Librans? The problem is we are much more than our Sun signs and reliability would depend on recognising many other factors in people's charts.
Not wanting to miss an opportunity, I have been lobbying for the availability on the h2g2 of special astrological characters (and I know there is support for this from fellow researchers - especially those with a planet or zodiac sign in their title) but my request seems to have fallen on stony ground. If anyone in a position of power and influence is reading this then please can you help remedy this unsatisfactory situation."

It was that post that led me to you and yes I have thought about adding a banner after my name but I have not yet got around to it due to one thing and another.

No but you could use a selection of wingdings or smilies.

Newbie here but like astrology type thingys
Pisces is a cool sun sign but I also like to play on my Scorpio rising and Cancerian Moon sign!! All three water signs, yet I don't like too much water Ie: the sea - it scares me!!

Haven't studied a lot of astrology but from what I've read I seem to be quite typical Pisces..

I'm about the 5th pisces person aren't I?
I don't follow star signs much.
Just about every star sign describes everyone I'd say ('scuse my ignorance).

BTW if you don't follow the signs, how do you know 'Just about every star sign describes everyone.'

Some people fit their signs to a T but others are totally opposite.

Hi there, I make number six for the pisceans in the league 'though I'm on the cusp being born on the 21st of Feb.

I am a pisces 02/03/76 and I to have Scorpio rising, dont know how true it is but I read that you see yourself as your sun sign and others see you as your rising sign, which I think would be true of me.

Of course if I believed what I read in the papers I'm an indecisive dreamer who lives in my own world and struggles with reality an addicitve personality. I'm surprised there aent more of us on the guide with that description.

I think pisceans get a hard time as we are at the arse end of the horoscope, what do you think.

Dave Gorman comedian and writer of Dave Gorman's Important Astrolgical Experment, is a Pisces born on 02/03 like me, then again so is Mikhail Gorbachev and Trevor Sinclair (footballer).

i don't know what a typical piscean is supposed to be like. hopefully really artistic people, with bags of compassion

i like being at the arse end of the zodiac; i like being a pisces, i think we're the coolest of the signs.

btw what does all this scorpio (or whatever) rising mean? ... i was born on 02/03/1971 at 14.56 (if that helps)

Ed, are you an Edward or an Edwena?

Yes your Sun sign is 1/12th of the Zodiac, so is your Ascendant and your Moon sign, then there's Mercury, Venus, Mars and Jupiter followed by Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. So if we just take the first four we have 12 * 12 * 12 * 12 = 20,736 and if we take them all it's 743,008,370,688.
