Microwaves: A Cautionary Tale from my childhood days
I once stuck a garlic bread- (home made) in the microwave. Which was allright, but I'd covered it in aluminium foil so it would heat proper and not dry out in the oven, before changing my mind and sticking it in the microwave.
See, I KNEW that you shouldn't stick metal in a microwave. It just slipped my mind.
As the microwave started zapping a lot, and the smell of smoke filled the air, I unplugged it. (This was- what- 5 seconds later?) There were two huge charred burn marks on the inside.
So, I scrubbed and cleaned these as best I could, then painted over them using toothpaste to further disguise these marks.
Then, I stuck the garlic bread back in... still covered in Aluminium foil... and turned it on.
EPILOUGE
Relatively soon after all this, our microwave stopped working and we bought a new one.
