Maximising Wednesday

Post 1

Beatrice

I've recently negotiated working on a 4 day week, and my usual day off is Wednesday- though I can switch that round if it suits. And I try to make the most of this precious time that I've bargained fir ( bad which costs me in terms of salary, leave, pension etc).

Today I had a brilliant day: up at 6, fed dogs, did my oil pulling, made a comedy angry birds bagel for hubby's breakfast.
Went to a Zumba class at 930, and called into boots at sprucefield, where a nice lady put some makeup on me- I was looking for a cc cream, but the no7 light was too pale and medium too dark. And I wasn't sure about the choice of lips. But I was able to continue to m&s looking slightly better than the "just finished Zumba!" Look I'd had earlier.

In m&s I was torn between the mumsnet advice that its not very stylish, and my desire to buy a snakeskin pattern fitted jacket in ivory and black, down to £40. But I really don't need another jacket. Instead I tried on a pair of high heeled camel suede clog sling backs with python trim, which just looked fabulous with my gold toenails, and the wrap tunic I'd put round my gym gear ( that the boots lady had admired). So I bought those.

Into town to lodge a cheque- refund from insurance company after changing cars, the amount paid for the shoes. Called into thorn tons to get some thank you chocs for my cousin who lent me a fancy dress outfit kat week, and picked up my dry cleaning.

Home for a lovely feta cheese salad, did some paperwork for a group I'm treasurer of, walked the dogs, hoovered the stairs, showered and pampered myself with some naice clarins lotion, and donned one of my LK Bennett £10 bargain maxi dresses.

Husband returned, popped to the shops for tea, bought some trout fillets- one fir tonight, one fir fast day tomorrow. I love trout- had the calories of salmon and hardly ant fat, but loads or protein. Baked it in a parcel with mushrooms, Greek basil and white wine.

Oh, and filed the papers on my desk and persuaded my printer tht yes it DID actually have paper despite its protestations to the contrary.

A good day all in all!

Gnomon - time to move on

Sounds like a good full day. I also take Wednesdays off, but sometimes I just don't feel like doing much.

Today I: dropped daughter to her work in Mrs G's car (which is a round-trip drive of about 50km), bought a garden hose attachment, walked 7km and collected my car from the garage, paying €1,800 for repairs.smiley - sadface

After that, I didn't feel like doing anything else, other than searching for the tortoise in the garden.
