All eggs in the one basket...I mean, city

My little baby is moving away today. Over to that big scary place called London, where prices are eye-wateringly expensive and people dont say "hi" to you in the shops!
Now, I know she's 19, she won't be alone, and her big brother has managed to survive there for the past 4 years. But every time I think that she's no longer just round the corner in case she (or I) need a hug.....
I know, I know, empty nests and all that. Big rite of passage, when the youngest one heads off into the big bad world.
Tea and chocolate called for, methinks.

So far I've been spared that fate, cause my youngest hasn't left the nest yet. I can hardly imagine how it will be once he does, though.

She has her big brother, her aunt and a cousin, plus my best friend, all living there and knowing their way around, so in an emergency, she's covered.
I also put in a facebook shout to Roymondo, who I believe is currently residing in the same area that she's moving into. Not sure if he'd class as a responsible adult though......

Diamond in the rough, that Roymondo. She'll be in good hands.
My youngest is in Berlin, if that's any consolation. But being a boy, it's different for the parents, I suppose. He found his own accommodation and seems to manage. And stay clean, as far as I can tell.

She gave me some of her clothes before she left, and I've just realised that I've worn something of hers every day this week - on Wednesday it was a lovely scrunchy black and white scarf that goes really well with my black and putty raincoat. Yesterday it was a drapey black waistcoat. And today, a sports top that I thought I'd never fit into!
Things seem to be going well at her end, apart from a parking nightmare. The council wont give them a residents permit cos they say there's parking in their apartment block - except there isn't. So they have to drive round for an hour to find a space in a street that isn't residents only, while continuing their fight with the incredibly unhelpful council officials.
But Matty posted a picture on Facebook of the new studio set up coming together!

sounds good so far - I think it takes time for something like that to sink in, because for the first week or so it's just as though they're on holiday or something.
I'm dreading it!!

When VC left home, we didn't notice the difference. She phoned everyday, which she did anyway.
1. She was so quiet when she was home.
2. She'd been staying at V's place for most of the week anyway.
Now, VV was a different kettle of fish!
It was so quiet, peaceful and totally
I'm not saying she's loud, but....

Bless her!
You spend all their school years dreading the call from the headmasters office to see what it is she's done now! And then she finishes with 3 prizes (Best Performing Arts result, Best Music result, and the Campbell Cup for outstanding contribution to the school).....and she's not there to collect her prizes, and let me bask in the glory!
Never mind, I get to visit her next weekend

I bet you gave the headmaster (headmistress) a big and a promise of front row tickets to her first performance!

Freshers week this week! And her boyfriend managed to get an internship as a music producer - his dream job - which also starts today. So they're both having a "first day of the rest of your life" moment.
I'll be in London this weekend, and am meeting up with J for lunch, and my son H has also said he'll be around that day, so I'm very much looking forward to seeing both my chicks. I'll try to remember to take photographs this time!
