Discovered a new super food today!
One of my favourite breakfasts is "yoghurt with stuff stirred in". I've switched to soya yoghurt, which is slightly sweeter and creamier than dairy, so it doesn't need any more sweetening.
I like a variety of nuts and seeds, and had tried before hemp seeds. But whole, they are very crunchy, and bits of the husk stick in your teeth.
A few weeks ago I bought a little selection pack of seedy-sprinkly things - flax seed, walnuts and goji berries etc. This morning I tried the shelled hemp seeds.
Wow! Crunchy, nutty, sweet, and no nasty husk. I shall explore ways of shelling the bag of ones I have in the cupboard - I think that crushing them in a mortar and pestle and then adding to water so the shell bit floats might be worth a go.

Plant 'em, water 'em, let 'em grow, harvest the buds and skin 'em up.

Throw them away and buy some shelled ones? They're not dear, are they?

I think the ready shelled ones are a good bit more expensive than the intact ones - but I'm going to do some research.
Plus I quite like the whole ones occasionally, they do have extra fibre and nutrition in that husk.

Now, I never thought of eating hemp seeds...though, come to think of it, there were Alice's brownies...

You should try it, Dmitri - I'm told it's a great replacement food for people with allergies to various things. It seems very few people are allergic to it...
