Off to see my folks up in Porstewart today, and had lunch at the York Hotel, overlooking a rather calm autumn sea.
It was my middle sister's birthday, and I gave her a cuddly meerkat (wot I got for knowing difference between compare the meerkat and compare the market websites...)
Her 2 boys were also able to join us - her eldest has lost 5 stone in the past 2 years, and I barely recognised him!
My youngest sister was over from London where she's now working at Brunel - she's doing some artsy stuff for the Outburst festival currently on here. I gave her some Clinique make up that I'd bought and then decided the colour didn't suit me.
My Dad was in good form, having had his arthritic foot seen to. I gave him a teeny bottle of scotch from the Gretna souvenir shop, and a full bottle of my Cragganmore single malt.
My Mum was thrilled to bits to have her 3 girls together for dinner - it's a rare and special occasion indeed. I gave her a book that had been compiled by one of our projects, on reminiscences from Tyrone/ Donegal, and a Ferrero Rocher covered with a little tea cosy to look like a Christmas pudding.
Fabulous family get-together!

* dang again, where IS that button? *
Yer Mum may have been happy at the gathering, but I'd wager your Dad was nearly as pleased with your gifts.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
