I do give off about Lux now and then, but sometimes it makes me smile with joy.smiley - biggrin

Spent a lovely weekend - saw the amazing Evelyn Glennie smiley - musicalnoteon Friday night (must check out the composers of the pieces she was playing)

A Murder Mystery on Saturday night, and on Sunday cycled to an Eco-fair (yummy organic almond cake smiley - drool) before seeing The Terminal at the cinema. All very nice, clean cheap venues, easy to get to.

Saw posters for Ash's forthcoming concert here in Lux! Wow! smiley - wow

Both my kids really excited about it too, as being from Norn Irn we are HUGE Ash fans - it's one of the few CDs all 3 of us will agree on as listening material in the car.

But being the rule-book slave that I am, I thought I'd better check out the policy on admission. So this morning I emailed both KuFa and den Atelier, the 2 venues for forthcoming concerts.

Got instantaneous replies - no problem, warm welcome, in fact, under 12s are free smiley - bigeyes

It's at times like this that I really do appreciate how lucky I am to live here.smiley - magic

You were at the Evelyn Glennie too! It really was fantastic wasn't it. We were so desperate to get tickets we tried ordering them from an internet cafe in Oz in August, but it was already sold out. By some miracle however the day before the concert my cello teacher rang up and said "Would you like two free tickets".

That piece for snare drum was absolutely amazing. I was almost leaping around in exhiliration afterwards.

Did you go and see 'Someone Who'll Watch over Me'? It was absolutely hilarious, despite the somewhat miserable setting.

Unfortunately I missed "Someone", although I'd really wanted to see it. But I'm rehearsing 3 nights a week at the mo with Pirates, which kinda limits the social life smiley - erm

Yes, I think my jaw was hitting the floor during the snare drum piece (was that by Bright Sheng? I didnt get a programme). Can't wait for the DVDsmiley - smiley

No, in the end there didn't seem to be a Bright Sheng piece at all smiley - erm. It was by an Icelandic composer, I forget his name now.

"Someone" really was great, shame you missed it. The english teachers are concocting a plan to try and bring it to the Petite Salle of the theatre at school. Perhaps if it happens you could sneak in then smiley - winkeye.
