A Conversation for Alcohol Abuse

Deadly stuff

I am a recovering alcoholic. Getting back to 'normal' (whatever that is) has been a long and difficult road. I have been fortunate in the support given to me by my wife and my employers.
I have also adopted Buddhism which has enabled me to gain an insight into myself.

May all people suffering from alcohol addiction find peace and health, may they be happy and free from fear.
May the families of people suffering from alcohol addiction be successful in helping their loved ones, may they also be happy and free from fear.

All best wishes to you and your family Pangolin. It's good to hear you've found a path to recovery, there are too many who don't.
My godfather was one of those - it's very difficult to watch someone you care about slowly drinking themselves to death. The screaming DTs, blindness for the last couple of years, steadily failing health, repeated hospitalisations towards the end. Deadly stuff indeed for those who don't find the strength and support to break the addiction.
