I've just managed to win 50p in a bet with my friend.
The bet was that I couldn't last a whole 24 hours without sending a text message to anyone from my precious mobile phone. I couldn't even answer the ones that were sent to me.
I have managed to win the bet but it was really hard work.
People probably think I'm dead now.
I had to 'speak' to my husband. I'm suprised he recognised my voice! My Mum rang to check I was O.K. and most of my friends think I now hate them.
I only got the phone at Xmas from - I can't think what I did before then to communicate with people.
Has anyone else got anything absurd they'd feel lost without if they had to not use it for 24 hours (except obvious things like the toilet and and
and
!)

COngratulations on your hefty winnings
Does not the fact that you now have 5 free text messages to spend on your friends to reassure them as to your well being soften the blow of not having texted them for a while?
I really couldnt survive without icq and/or trillian I don think. Or rather i could, but not happily.

I know exactly what you mean, I couldn't survive without the internet.
I never really got into texting, my mobile phone is never switched on and no one knows my number, I don't think i've ever recieved a text message.
