... they've switched the heating on at work. I can tell by the smell of burning dust. Nice.
On the plus side I might be able to keep the fingerless gloves for another occasion.

There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho Posted Oct 20, 2011
I was just thinking about that myself. We've had a couple of cold mornings here these past two days, and while it's pleasantly balmy once the sun comes up it's a bit chilly jumping out of the shower at 7am If it gets a few degrees colder I'll have to turn on the heat, just while I'm showering and then getting dressed. Gonna be a six-month build-up of dust on those heating elements. Pee-yew.

I can see the dust on the top of mine. Ours comes on in October and goes off around April. Regardless of the weather. At least I actually have a thermostat on mine; most of them have been removed.
Doesn't quite make up for the gaping holes around the window frames, but it's better than nowt.

It's chilly here today. For the past week, it's been boiling at w*rk, so today I didn't bother to bring a sweater with me. Of course, it's freezing today, so I'm sitting here wearing my raincoat just to keep warm.
And the thermostat is in my cubicle. I think it's just a dummy.

Outdoor kitchen - is that a new phrase for 'barbecue'?

We actually got rid of our barbeque last year. We almost never used the thing, it took up loads of space, and to be honest if we want a barbeque we'll buy one of those disposable ones. It worked rather well on the single occasion we thought we'd have one.

Well assuming how the kitchen seems to work, there doesn't seem much point in having a barbecue if it is going to be inside

Vip! You can easily have an alternative. SS will happily barbecue at anytime and has even been known to do one in
We have traditional ones and a gas one for outside. However, we bought one of those cast iron trays with grilled side and plain side, which you can place onto the hob indoors with the same effect. We have used it several times recently, with excellent results.

I kind of miss the Rayburn that my parents had in one of their houses. I think that although the romantic in them misses it, now they're in a more modern house they're quite glad to be back on conventional.
Rayburns are lovely but you really have to plan in advance. No spur-of-the-moment cooking.
