I have ImovieHD, only thing is the daft thing says I don't have a DV camera connected to my Imac. So what's that dark camera-like lens doing in the top of my monitor then? The once you can sue to send videos over instant messanger?
Do I need to purchase Ilife to make a film clip? Surely not?
I am Confused.

I think you need iChat AV for this, but you can do it. Next to the video controls in the iMovie window there's a little switch which is usually set to the scissors, ie. 'edit'. Switch that to the camera and iSight should fire up.
