And I am achingly homesick for Canada. Keep crying all the time. To come back into a pit of stinking vomit, after being in the mountains for months...tch. Thus is life.
Plan -
1) Get job
2) Go to college
3) Finish college
4) Get the hell back to Vancouver.

Nope. It costs money that I don't have. And although we're working on a job there (as a TA) it doesn't look hopeful.
I might not be back there for a year.

What sort of job are you capable of doing/getting here (and why is it that you couldn't get the same sort of thing there)? I seem to remember you asking for ideas last year. Have you acquired any more qualifications or experience? Are you looking for writing competitions again?

Once I am over this jet lag (it's horrific - can't get back onto the UK time zone!), I'm going to start attempting to get a data entry job. I need something that I can change the shifts around for when I go back to college to study massage therapy. I have a friend that did it, so he's given me enough information to help me along the way.
As for writing - I'm going to send a chunk of things off to a publisher, and then that's it. No more until my life is sorted out.

Hugs, hun.
I too have a similar plan (you may already be aware):
Get job.
Finish degree.
Get to Toronto.
I can't do my degree anywhere other than here, Boston MA, and Cambridge England, to my knowledge... so I can't get out of this country until I'm done.
But that's okay 'coz I can't afford a plane ticket anyway.
But I'll come visit you when we're on the same continent, okay?
