I think it's the blank stare during the doiling process. That is actually what it looks like when an alien sucks your brain's thinking power. They must save it in a brainwave battery.
It's the first doily. They just have to get you to pick up the string and chain the circle. During that initial stage, you are too busy concentrating on that stupid little hole, that you never realized the aliens induced endorphins. With each succesful stitch of the doil, a measured level of brain candy is released and you're hooked, just like a doily.
I would consider writing the defense department, but then I remembered the picture of Colen Powell in his office. There were doilies everywhere. I guess they already got to him.
Any news on the Queen?
Stay sharp, and resist, at least try to resist the urge. Is there a DA entry in the Guide? My name is Pika, and I'm a doilaholic. (Hi Pika.)
Still, Pika
PS Are you a good witch or a bad witch?

Dear Pika,
Those aliens! Always up to no good! You have to watch them every minute!
As to the "witch" question...
depends on the mood doesn't it?

But seriously, isn't reverse hiccups, swallowing?
The witch was only a Kansas thing. After I put in the bit about the Queen, I realized you might not be in England, and went to check.
I love that movie.
Take care.

Reverse hiccups - i think the proper name is 'reflux' (can't even began to ponder contemplating the thought of entertaining the idea of amusing oneself with the plural)
Not to sound pedantic - i just heard it the other day.
the trouble with doilies
the thing we all know
is that doilies are evil
and *boy* does it show.

Actually - where hiccups are an involuntary muscle spasm and sudden intake of air happening at irregular times, Reverse hiccups are an exhalation of air, over a longer period of time and they can be planned in advance!
And yes - replying to your "which witch" question -
sometimes I'm the "good witch of the west" and other times I am definitely the "bad witch"!
Isn't being a witch fun?

oops, sorry, a reflux is a reverse burp.
my mistake.

Still only joking, but now I know ever so much about hiccups.
I personally believe the letter 'i' means indicates, or would seem to indicate.
So witch indicates watch. I keep my eyes open.

Nope, just a rapid heart beat. I have to get tests. Tests are not my favorite!!!
I suppose it's better to know.
Take care.

The blood test indicated a possible thyroid problem. They are going to ultra-sound my throat. I've never had that one before. I've had lots of tests.
I also have to get a GI series. But all else appears well. My heart is still beating too fast at times, but I'm allergic to many kinds of pills, so I can't take the normal cure for that.
Take care.

Well thyroid problems can be corrected quite easily enough... let's keep our fingers crossed that's all it is!
