Dunno, the old sites I've been to are Carylon and Holywell - Carylon is a great site and a good base for most of Cornwall.

We've tried a few sites on the north coast, but each time it's been too windy/stoney to get tents up and we've abandonded it!

Sorry smiley - biggrin

Central? smiley - yikes!

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Please please don't go anywhere inland, I need to be within walking distance (and I mean under 20 mins) of a lovely sandy beach - with good waves!!!!

With the redevelopment of Carylon Bay still happening (not sure if it has started yet see http://www.carlyonbaywatch.co.uk/cgletter16112003.html for the protest site) Then that may not be the best destination for you.

However, we are going there early August, so can report back as to beach accessibility etc. Remind me.

On the subject of reminders, my network will have changed by this evening smiley - winkeye

Sandy beaches? Try anywhere near Falmouth.

For sandy beaches plus campsites I can suggest Hendra and Trenance Holiday Park - both in Newquay.
My friends own Trenance and I know they only accept couples and families so is friendly but inconvenient for some.
Hendra is really lovely.

Hendra: http://www.hendra-holidays.com/

A site I found with more campsites - not exactly what I'd call comprehensive - I'm sure there are better listings but I happened across this one!:

Hope this helps!

I can tell you two to avoid! But that maybe because when we've tried them it was windy - I'd check with any site to see how close to the coast it is as the North Coast does seem to get very blowy.

We loved Polzeath beach this year - a surfy place, but not solely surfy - beginers (several surf schools) and swimmers mix well with families - don't know any good sites around there though.
