A Conversation for Firewalking

A655300 - Firewalking as a Tool For Personal Growth

Zarquon's Singing Fish!

I've amended the title. The entry started out with this as the focus, then grew larger and took on other aspects, so 'Firewalking' reflects it better now.

I'll give the other thoughts some consideration.

Amongst people who lead firewalks, there are some who strongly believe that it *cannot* be explained away by the physics and that it is a case of mind over matter. I'm ambivalent on this one. I did put something in the text about being told by my firewalk leader that this was the explanation.

Should I put the warning in twice? My own feeling is that it's in early and it's in bold and it seems to be enough for me.

What do others think?

I can understand the sentiment that firewalks are a mind-over-matter / will-of-the-gods thing. In fact, I am quite prepared to believe in things that science has not proven ...

However it seems to me that science has given a perfectly sensible reason, (charcoal has a low conductivity of heat) to explain one's ability to firewalk.

Firstly ... if it is truly mind over matter, let's see these people walk on the edge of the coals where there are flames. I wonder how well they're mind-over-matter will help them.
Secondly ... a perfectly reasonable scientific explanation has been provided. It's a bit like continuing to claim that eclipses are due to the Gods being angry. Yes, it could be a "supernatural" happening but equally there is a perfectly reasonable explanation available.

In short though it reminds me of when you "stub" a candle out by wetting your fingers first, or wave them through the flame. You expect to get burnt but it doesn't happen for purely scientific reasons ... or is it mind-over-matter ...

OK, I'll add a bit more in about the insulating qualities of wood and ash.

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.

If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.

Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!

Okay.

Firstly, the incident mentioned was in fact Eagle Star, and the firewalking company was Infinite Breakthroughs, owned by Michael Carroll. Michael had modelled the seminar from someone else, instead of 'learning' how to do it safely, from one of the two companies that teach it to the same standard, globally.

INVITATION TO ALL THE SCEPTICS. If you search the web, you'll find a picture of me stood on a glowing bed. I stood there for nearly 2 minutes without pain or injury. I have trained to the highest level in the industry, and run Instructor training courses, and I can say firsthand that there is much more to it than these ridiculous scientific sounding ideas. Our firsthand evidence over 20 years proves it. I suggest that you have a look at Mythbusters, and you'll see a guy who does a "daylight firewalk" (very dangerous) and who burns quite badly. The day before, we'd taken everyone else over, with no problems whatsoever. Their excuse was, "it was the way he walked!" - how scientific is that!

Many people like Tony Robbins use a very simple version of the firewalk to try to embed change and try to sell his products, but with the Training we offer, the firewalk is the smallest of the things we get people to break through.

I would like to invite all the sceptics to contact me, I am putting together a list, and will be inviting you all to an event at my place that may test your beliefs.

I've been firewalking for over 20 years, and have seen around 13,000 people firewalk, but more importantly, have seen what happens consistently when people take it lightly. I can be contacted at Success Formulae for further information.
