Peering into the void and hoping it doesn't peer back

Tonsil Revenge (PG)

i had to stay home from work last night.
I called in sick and lied.
but I was sick, of a different sort

I have learned to control many things on my job,
including my anger, frustration and overwhelming urge to fight or flight.

But every once in awhile somebody does something so insensitive, and in such a deliberately insulting manner, that it makes me sick.

That's why I didn't go in last night.

I've been accused of making mountains out of molehills.
I accuse others of making molehills out of mountains.
Some things are just very important to me and to be told not only that they are truly none of my business, but
that I am causing trouble by bringing them up is
almost too much.

I cannot really go into specifics without sounding stupid, but a close co-worker proved once again that he has learning difficulties. I was trying to help him overcome a specific problem when he told me that I was making the problem worse by trying to help him and that he was tired of me trying to help him and he wanted me to stop, particularly since I am not too bright on certain aspects of the job myself.

The thing he is doing wrong, however, I figured out how to do months ago and all he has to do is pay attention to get it right. That he hasn't had actually endangered his safety and mine. Other co-workers are aware of this and try to stay clear of him.
But he has personalised it so that he doesn't have to pay attention and he has castigated me for paying attention.

This kind of thing makes me sick.

I will be going to to work this evening in a few minutes. I hope I can make it through the night. I also hope that maybe he'll finally realize what he's doing and try to deal with it himself.
Otherwise, I guess I'll just have to control myself and stay out of his way.

I do hate being told I'm wrong when I know I'm right.

Good luck, tonsil.smiley - goodluck

I guess it's difficult for people to hear that they're doing things wrongly - it hits the ego and brings on defensiveness. Could your supervisor handle it, as it's a safety issue? Might be a bit late now, but could you handle it by asking him questions about the consequences of his actions?

Yes, well, my supervisor is insane.

My co-worker behaved himself thursday, pretty much. He only made a fool of himself once when he was accusing me of goofing off while I was working and I just grinned at him and laughed.

Friday we showed up for work and our machine was FUBARed, so my supervisor, whom my co-worker was talking to on the phone, told us to go home after two hours.
