I am spending the time I used to use online. The Tascam DP-02 is the toy I've wanted my entire life. I've also been working towards it by not learning to play music the way you are supposed to.
I have generated over 180 "compositions" since March. A good quarter of them have ended up in the bin. Since this is didgital technology, I don't have piles of tape sitting around, just a slim deck of CDs.
I have given away dozens of CD compilations of my work and only a few have commented. I think the rest are nonplussed.
I truly believe I am engaged in my life's work.

Mostly short noisy compositions that sound like the Residents crossed with Zappa mixed with King Crimson.
Some of it is straight guitar with a lead, rhythm and bass, with homemade percussion.
Others are experiments in using the effects patches on the DP-02 as a cheap guitar synthesizer.
I haven't investigated the possibility of putting any of it online because my computer is so old and I am too silly to have it upgraded enough to generate mp3s.
I will see about sending a CD to a couple folks and see if they have the ability.
