is this about anyone in particular, or just a general combination of everyone who thinks they know better?

Having had my mother-in-law to stay for the weekend (who will become a grandmother in the next six months or so) I get a distinct sense of deja vu - she's already talking about... MUSIC LESSONS!
Good grief!

It's a combination of comments, some said in winking jest, some with loaded overtones, some outright rude.
I find it facinating that some of the people who say comments like this I have seen actively campaining for women's rights in the work place. Yet at seems that, on the home front, they snigger at the slightest change from the traditionally accepted norm. LOL

Hello my dear sweet Shazz. I will fill you in on what has happened lately, in an e-mail. I watched a biography show on Genesis last night. I was thinking of you and TM, wishing you could see it too. They showed some wonderful footage of a very young Peter Gabriel. "Supper's Ready", "Stagnation", "The Lamb", "The Musical Box". It was wonderful. (I almost need a cold shower just thinking of it. )

Don't get me wrong Shazz! (and my Mum used to be a violin teacher - I've got nothing against the tutors!
Music lessons at the right time in the right place are fine, but they will be our decision, if we thing it's right for Bump, not because m-in-l thinks they are a sign of good breeding in the family!
I don't feel I can make any lifestyle plans for the child at this stage, so I'm certainly not letting anybody else!
She put my other half through miserable years of piano lessons, because she felt it looked good, even though he was clearly unsuited and unhappy. It was only the arrival of a younger sister which let him off the hook...
Wowbagger and Mrs W are making a decision based on what's comfortable for the three of them - what a good example
Clovscat - still regaining her temper after the mother-in-law's visit...

I am sure if you trust me with your postal addresses I can persuade TM to send copies to you Wowbagger and ali
You would just have to be patient as the general pace of post is, for obvious reasons, rather slow.
