I've just booked tickets for a gig at Wembley. It'll be the first time I've been to such a big event. Not hubby's cup of tea, so now I need to find a suitable companion to share the excitement! smiley - wow

sounds cool, let us in on who it is!
Although I have to admit big gigs aren't my cup of tea either.

Yes it is Muse! A second date was announced as the first one sold out so quickly.
I haven't been to see many live groups. The quality of the music is usually much better on a recording, but there is a certain buzz being at a live performance. I can still remember the thrill as a teenager seeing Simon & Garfunkel at the Albert Hall, just a few seats from the side of the stage.

Well I'll envy you S&G bt I'll pass on Muse. One of my daughters is a big fan, and I dropped two of them off to see them at the NEC last month - quite a wide range of people there whenI wen back to pick them up.

Personally I think I could tolerate their music if they shot the singer.

I do have a rather eclectic taste in music. My elder son introduced me to Muse - probably appeals to the ageing rock chick in me. smiley - cool
As a family, we each have our own music collections & there's not a lot of overlap!

I'm into folk and country mainly, though there's a fair smattering of English rock and West Coast American Rock on there.

Cool, Muse are one of the better ones of recent times and I do like a lot of what they've put out so far. Albums on the buy list for january! They make a stark contrast to the huge amount of american college rock bands that are out there.

Although I must say that the video to Knights of Cydonia is very odd!

Haven't seen that, but it was the track I liked best on first hearing the latest CD.
I must admit to frequently listening to music without a clue as to what the lyrics are all about!
Not all artists are considerate enough to put the words on the sleeve/CD insert. From the title & odd snippets of deciphered/misheard lyrics, I've often had quite the wrong idea smiley - erm.

I've seen worse! Now that's shattered my picture of knights in armour ....

I like a bit of folk too, but country music doesn't do much for me. Tried line dancing a few times, but found it rather boring.
Having watched the latest Howard Goodall series, it's interesting to see what it is about certain pieces that appeals.
