Hi folks! I've been busy learning French. That's why I haven't been posting much lately. I took French back in high school and college, but I had forgotten most of it. Now, it is all coming back to me. I may try to learn some Spanish and German too.

Hey congrats JEllen! My French Canadian sister-in-law(a bilingual teacher who had studied in France & of course taught my 3 nieces frenchas toddlers)has me frequenty searching my memory banks for bits of my high school french. I really ought to become more fluent in the language.

So - how are you learning it? In a class with others, or at home on your own?

At home, online, using a fantastic website called LiveMocha. I will email you a link or an invite if you want to join. You can learn the basics of most languages for free, and can purchase additional lessons if you want. And you can help other people trying to learn your own language. It's a cool set up.

Hey Jabs, I do not have a microphone yet, so I cannot practice my French speaking on the Livemocha website. I think that the exercises I am listening to are Parisian French. But some French speakers from Canada have helped me correct my written exercises.
