My first 3D movie was Avatar. It was great fun!!! Very good acting, if you can still call it acting. Great music. An entire engaging new world. And the three dimensionality is quite amazing. Despite the three hour length, I didn't get restless or bored. Good job all round I'd say!

Yeah Jellen I just saw Avatar 'regular' style but I found it a great movie, very spectacular! And I appreciated it having an 'environmental' message also.

I've owned a pair of 3D glasses for years, and until recently, only used them for a specific older B-grade "horror" film called 13 Ghosts- it's not a 3D film, but you can't see the ghosts without the glasses.
The only movie I can recall having seen in 3D was when we went with a co-worker of mine and his wife to Navy Pier to see Beowulf. The 3D part was pretty cool, and was the only thing that made the movie remotely watchable. What a horrible rendering of Beowulf that was!!
Glad you enjoyed Avatar. We honestly don't plan to see it- the only film he's ever done that I didn't hate was Aliens.

Mind you, 'expert' cultural critics on TV have said recently that altho' the film is 3D, the characters are only two-dimensional.......

Hmmm, I thought the excellent acting overcame any flatness of character. It was a bit good versus evil, but I don't really mind that. On the Netflix rental list this week - Help!, and Educating Rita.
