Barack Obama accepted the Democratic nomination for President tonight. Gave a very good speech. I'm chuffed.

Hi Jazz! I realize hootoo is a rather odd place to post this, since there aren't that many Americans on here, but I had to share my excitement.

A little odd maybe(but given the circumstances)I certainly understand! It's definitely an exciting time.

I'd be interested to see how McCain plays the C-In-C point, now he's got a National Guardsman as a running mate.

Hmmm, I think Obama would make a great commander in chief, but then I'm hardly impartial. Hahaha. I'd like someone capable of defending the country without rushing into unnecessary wars. Who considers diplomacy a real art, one worth cultivating.

Just watched McCain's introduction of his running mate, the Alaska governor. There was an intense sense of "you'll have to do... young, Pro-Life... just don't embarrass me." Ironic really. It looks like his camp is running scared now. I just hope Obama doesn't play the race card, but he seems like he's bigger than that.

I have seen the press talk daily of the "race card"
It is bad, as usual, how the press emphasizes certain news and copy each other or they just plain making news, are the news.
For some voters race will be an issue without a doubt. Same for sex and age. Votes will be both won and lost due to them. Sad when that is the only reason to vote. I really hope it is NOT, whether pro or against.
I do not think I have ever seen such a clean running candidate as Obama. (Perhaps Carter)It is refreshing. I hope he will go back to letting the silly stuff roll off and speak only to the important topics.
I cannot believe there is so little time left.
It has gone on a long time!
I do not trust in such a late chance to properly introduce and interview Palin. Although I knew where MY vote was going beforehand, a lot of people are in the middle.
I am looking forward to watching the debates. although I do not know how it will be setup. I watched both conventions. What a job that was! I feel it is my civic duty.
I know a lot of young folks that will be voting.
I hope we have an enourmous turnout. The biggest ever
