Well it's snowing here in Memphis. A rare occurrence. We expect 4 to 6 inches, which may not sound like much, but for Memphis TN that's a lot. It's beautiful looking out my window, but I don't think I will try and go out in it. With my dodgy ankle I would probably slip and break something. I tried to get Micio to go out on the balcony and play in the snow, but she would have none of it. It actually thundered earlier, and the wind is blowing fierce.

I would like to, but I'll have to wait until tomorrow, because it's just gotten dark.

No snow at the moment here- we should see some tomorrow and possibly Sunday. Hopefully it won't be like the last three, where we had 12+ inches at a time.
I hope you don't have to drive anywhere, JEllen?

Nope, no driving luckily! I've got enough food to last a couple days. I may have to do some real cooking though.

cooking is good
Photos would be great though - I can't imagine snow in Memphis!
(we got one day of about 4 cms this winter... that's rare for us, it's usually two days of 8 cms )

We got only a light dusting last night, JEllen, but we might see anywhere from 2-6 inches today. I'd still like to see photos of yours- Memphis snow would be very different from Chicago snow.

We had snow this week. Didn't last long.
The best way to scramble eggs:
Lots of butter.
The lowest heat feasible.
Lots of strirring.
Serve them slightly runny.

A bit of cream also makes them yummier...definitely with you on "undercook" rather than "overcook" Ed!
Hmm, snow...i seem to remember that...white rain with no discernable balls, so it's Definitely not hail (Mary!)
We had fog today; i reckon that's the closest we are likely to get to severe cold, thank goodness. i agree about NOT going out with dodgy leg stuff, No Way do i venture out in rain, sleet or snow unless it's an emergency...if you really are running out of supplies, time to swallow your pride & phone fiends & family.
PC: How you cope with that much cold stuff, i can't imagine; it's only minus One here tonight & me a Yoda are huddled round the heater, me in 4 layers, including Icelandic sweater & blanket across knees; her in fur coat & shoved up next to the radiator (she is coping: fret not!...when i switch the heater down at night she snuggles up under the duvet with mama!)
Yoda experienced Snow once & was Not impressed.(about a quarter inch of it; that's all that ever happens here)

My camera battery gave out on me, and I didn't have any replacement batteries on hand. Bummer! Of all the times! However I did manage to snap a picture or two, including this one of my balcony.

Speaking of which...
This afternoon we went here: http://www.glasgowmuseums.com/venue/index.cfm?venueid=1 A damn fine museum and reckoned to be one of Britains finest art collections.
When we got home, our front door had been blown open by the wind. I went in to check. The place looked like it had been totally trashed. Completely normal, then.
