The Golden Globe awards are on Monday night! I know most of you would rather scrub the kitchen floor than watch an awards show, but I am excited. My guy Leo is nominated for two acting awards - once for The Departed, and once for Blood Diamond. It will be hard for him to win with his votes split like that. We'll see.

Hi Ellen!*waves* Oh I'll be paying attention, even though I don't see as many movies as I did in the past.

I shall be at the back of the room, practicing my typos and my jokes behind the couch, if anyone wants me. In fact I'll be practicing trying to do without them!

Ps. I like L de C too!

Hi Jab. I've been playing my new Wisdom Quest game tonight. It's the second half of Wild Divine, that biofeedback game.

Edward the Bonobo - Gone. Posted Jan 15, 2007
I thought that Lenny was outstanding in The Departed. It was creative, emotionally intelligent acting.
I assume he's up against Forest W? I saw TLKoS on Saturday, in a rare cinema outing. It was a tour de force. The clincher was when they showed footage of the real Idi Amin at the end and I wouldn't have known it wasn't Whittaker if I hadn't been tipped off in advance. I think he'll win - and get the Oscar. Amazing stuff!
BUT: My vote still goes to Lenny. It was a different kind of acting, and I saw him pull off some dynamite moves. Forest W's technically proficient type of method acting is admirable, but Lenny was...something else.
I'll be expanding further in my blog soon(ish)

Forest won, but I was happy for him. It was so sweet how overwhelmed he was during his acceptance speech.
Now, on to the Oscars.

Toldja so. Good on him.
But...a couple of times, Lenny's schtick in The Departed made me go "Whoaah!". Blog post coming soon...
I really liked Forst Whittaker in 'Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai' too. A very entertaining film!
