I don't use those "medicated" ones at all. Can't stand them and I don't like the ones with something that is supposed to numb your throat since they only freeze my mouth and tongue and not my throat.

I like the 'herbon'(a Canadian product) - http://www.herbon.com . Keeping some of their Lemon Honey flavor on hand...just in case!But speaking of honey & lemon...I'm surewith those-just a touch of lemon-would help too.

Everyone's suggestions sound wonderful.
Being a singer, I'm used to treating my sore throat with ginger tea with lemon and honey. Plus I use those yummy blackcurrant glycerine pastilles.
They seem to do the trick with me!

Hi JEllen! I have a wonderful herb tea at home that's great for sore throats, I'll look at the ingredients when I get home from work and let you know what's in it. Otherwise, those Ricola drops are awesome!

Also there is Cepocol? spray, it gets kind of thick in the throat if its used too often, but sparingly it does wonder

Honey-lemon tea is good too , but use non cafinated because cafine constricts the throat

Also, gargling with salt water does help

I've got some honey lemon coughdrops which do seem to help, though I wish I had some Ludens cherry ones, may go buy some tomorrow.
