I'm still here but a bit too busy to be on H2 as much as I used to.
Enjoying the new job after winning the MTAS lottery.
Passed MRCP Part 1 and 2 (written) just 2 (PACES) the practical bit to do.
I don't have much else left in life after that.

Long time no etc. etc.
Oddly enough, I thought of something the other day and thought 'That's the kind og thing Z will know.' God knows what it was. Something to do with GUM, perhaps.
Ah well. They say you don't really have to worry until you forget the name 'Alzheimer'.
How's doctoring?

"I don't have much else left in life after that."
I suppose you didn't really have a choice when it came to medicine, just like all us poor souls who have at some point in their lives realised that they need to become a doctor, and thus begin along the long path to become one. Once they've made the decision, though, it stays with them for the rest of their lives. The early years are the most difficult when, as a medical student, you try to pass as a doctor but keep on being recognised for what you really are. Some say it gets easier once you've changed your name to that of a doctor, but in reality many FY1s (a term for medical students partway through their transition to becoming doctors) still have confidence issues. In the end, it's being happy with who you are that matters.

Hi, Z, good to hear from you.
The most important bit was <> It seems we are all of the same opinion in that I hope you find time for other things in your life. You'll make a better if you do

Alex - yes it will change!
Alex you can choose *not* to do hospital medicine - my house officer looked at me and asked why I chose to do this. But once you're past F1 and can actually choose your path things get better. You stay late because you want to get on and be proffessional.
Great to see all these comments - and I'm fine.

Great to see you, Z! Is this a fleeting appearance, or will you be popping in more often to show off that impressive row of letters?

Hi Hyp I've been wondering how you were as well.
I've not got any extra letters yet - but I'll be adding MRCP to my name in June if I manage to pass the hardest exam yet! and I'll be trying to pop in more often.
