3 April, 2006: Profanity Filter Goes Live

As previously announced, h2g2 now has a profanity filter to prevent the posting of swearing. Because of the way the filter works, we have had to make changes to the House Rules, specifically the section detailing profanity. Partially-starring out a word may not pass the profanity filter. Although the 
smiley is still available for those Researchers who cannot contain themselves, we would ask that its use be limited. Excessive use of the smiley may constitute flooding and therefore breach the House Rules. Although the filter is effective immediately, we should point out that most h2g2 Researchers shouldn't even notice the difference.
