Now this is not something I admit to lightly - the reason for this will become apparent shortly.
When I did my degree a large part of our time was spent studying psychology. In the context of what we were doing this made sense and I have to confess I did quite enjoy that area of study. When I finished my degree I decided not to become a Speech Therapist and that, I thought was that.
Now there is an element on psychology in what I do now but from time to time I come across stories that leave me with mixed feelings about psychology. Part of me is really glad I have not become a fully fledged trick cyclist, and part of me thinks I may have missed a trick in earning a quick buck.
First there was the story of the greetings card psychologist who pronounced that you could deduce things about the people who sent you cards from the cards they sent. For example, the psychologist concerned told us that if someone sends us a recycled card they are concerned about the environment, or if they sent you a hand made card they enjoyed being creative. Well I would have thought that was just common sense.
Now there is this:

And I was thinking of decorating my tree tonight. I wonder what it will say about me!

There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho Posted Dec 14, 2004
"I suppose it is no surprise that the family of the man who holds the most powerful position in the world should have the most huge, well established and powerfully busy-looking tree,"
Big tree, small... intellect?

Really!
I am not sure my intellect gets bigger when its cold - although its true to say that I think about doing things when I am cold rather than maybe doing them

I know what my tree will say about me:
1. This woman allowed no time to decorate - what does she think that ornaments just grow on a tree?
2. Sentimental attachment to ugly decorations
3. What - is this person color blind?
4. Exactly how long does she expect a strand of popcorn to last?
5. I can't believe she put the Mickey Mouse ornament right next to the Manger ornament! Is she nuts?!!
6. The cat is looking at my branches with evil in it's eyes...
7. Oh no! She's slathering me with tinsle again! Run! Run away!!

Now that is a talkative tree!
Mind you my plans to decorate tonight could go wrong if I cant find the tree or the decorations. OJ thinks he has seen them since we moved but has a bad arm at the moment so is not allowed to lift/carry or do the ironing

Even without the 'Baby's First Christmas 2003' ornament, my tree likely says that there's a toddler in the house--all the blown glass ornaments are on the top half

Mine used to be the same when I had a cat! he used to love playing with anything dangling from the tree up to about 3 ft from the ground was considered (by him) fair game

What does it say about someone who does not put up a Christmas tree at all?
The last tree I put up was for Xmas 1988. It was still up as Easter approached.

I think the expression had something to do with minty sweets!
However you could start a whole new trend here - Easter Trees ... Make a change from bunnies

I wasn't living in the house at the time, that's why I didn't bother taking down the tree. The tenant who was living there was quite happy with having the tree in place as it brightened the room up a bit. She was also Jewish, so didn't have any issues with having a christmas thing hanging around for so long.
Quite honestly I think it would still be there if weren't for the fact that mother was visiting over the Easter, and *she* would have objected!

I've never put up a tree, either. The psychology is just what you suggested:
Bah, humbug!
