You'll all be glad to know that i haven't lost my knack for srtupid injuries. In the last week I'vce given myself a nosebleed by hitting myself in the face with a door, and I aggravated my chest strain while carrying water.

Do we get a link to Amokachi's stupid hairdo, or...?

eh? Oh, well I'll have a look. It only struck me when, after wqatching Top of the Pops 2 the other day, I noticewd on my little model of Amokachi that he, when at Everton, had the same haircut that grace Jones did when she unfeasibly reached the charts.

Just for a minute there, I didn't read the 'model', which meant the photo came as something of a surprise.

What, you thought Amo was fgor sale on eBay, or that he was plastic and had an unfeasibly large head?

The second one.

I just wondered whether the photo was taken when he was suffering from a particularly bad hangover...

You know apparently he, Duncan Ferguson and Earl barrett celebrated Everton's FA Cup triumph by getting utterly pissed at the party, then going out the next day, buying kilts, matching them with official everton berets,a nd went to ewatch Breaveheart.

While Big Nev celebrated by driving to llandudno from LOndon right after the final.

He went to Sheffield Wednesday and then faded into obscyrity, occassionally popping up in "Kick Racism Out Of Football" campaigns

Ah, Earl Barrett. The man about whom the phrase 'penguin on rollerskates' was originally coined. The point was he was great defensively but not quite so effective when going forward.

In this day and age, as a full-back who could defend, maybe we should start a campaign to have him preserved and exhibited in a glass box?

...or recalled tyo the England team.

The Everton squad in the 95=96 and 96-97 seasons was absurdly fullback-heavy. The FA CUp final team had three left backs- Unsworth, Abblett and Hinchcliffe- in it, and the right back, mat Jackson, was only in 'cos Earl was cuptied, and then we signed Marc hottiger and the old and useless Paul holmes. Seven fullbacks in the senior squad. rather eccentric.

Surely Unsworth is more of a centre-back, though.

Egon, are you sure we're not related smiley - erm??

I come from a graceless people, and we have a knack for injuring ourselves in the most troubling and bizarre ways...there's a tree outside of my office...and at least once a year I walk straight into it for no good reason at all...when you'd think after 5 years I'd have figured out to watch out for it (if it is, as I believe, truly out to get me)...if for no other reason than I work on a main street near the city...and I'm scared one day that I may cause an accident by running into the tree and someone laughing so hard they also run into the tree...smiley - erm
