of course it has to be taken into consideration that wiping out his whole network would entail carpet-bombing the entire Arab world, and that would probably mean killing a lot more innocent people than last week's terrorist action. Don't get me wrong, I am no supporter of terrorism and am not defending their actions in any way, but I guess a ill-considered kneejerk reaction is going to get nowhere. Maybe USA could speak a few words to their friends in Israel and tell them to be a little nicer to the Palestinians? That would probably go a long way to get some cooperation from the Arab governments around the world.

probably not, The USA are a threat to their way of life, like Gays, Blacks, Jews, and anyone else is to White Christian America. It's exactly the same thing. If we were nicer it wouldn't matter. MLK2 was nice and look what happened to him. John Lennon Too...hell Even Christ. People are just people. They hate things. No stopping that.

or is this just an excuse to get rid of Bin Laden anyway? I feel sorry for the poor Afghan people who in general have no particular wympathies for him, and who are terrorised by the Taliban. They are now going to get pulverised by the US war machine just for good measure. Violence can only breed more violence, and the cycle has to stop somehow

We could ask the Israeli's to be nicer to the Palestinians, but are you implying that Mr Arafat, contrary to his statement condemning the attacts, actualy was happy to see the attack? His people Did actualy dance in the streets during the tradegy. I suppose this just shows us what compasionate freinds they realy ARE. So if we are nice to them, maybe they'l like us? Or maybe its good money after bad. Maybe tis' time to cut our losses; how many attacks, how many people so far? We realy have a pretty good tab to settle now, what with adding 6,000 dead. And in typical Palestinian fashion, a lot of women and children included!
No, now truly, you are as my President has said: "our friend or our enemy" No terrorist shall stand. We have 6,000 to avenge, and some of their innocents will have to pay the price also...

But nothing a Pan-Galactic Gargleblaster won't fix.

a slight correction: not all the 6000 were Americans - they were a mixture of nationalities, races and religions, but USA are the first to scream for blood. It is true that some Palestinians celebrated and I think that's abhorrent. But, on an objective note - they have suffered a lot at the hands of Israel who have been bankrolled and supported by USA, no surprises that they don't all feel buddy buddy. No excuse for lack of compassion though. As for this "our friend or our enemy" rubbish......... how about being the friend of reason? I don't agree with terrorism but this reeks of revenge, not justice.
I will add at the end here, that I am not anti USA. It's a great place and my heart breaks at the events in NY. I just think there must be a better way.
