My latest offering, like a depressing proportion of its recent predecessors, is in Limbo As Above.
It's probably the consequence of a single use of the sanguine adjective, mild though that expletive is.
It might just have been a very indirect reference to Mickey's advocacy of Certain Things We Should Do With Bankers, but I don't think they're that subtle, are they? I mean, it's not as if they read the stuff.
I wouldn't mind, but it isn't even very good. I only threw it in to show a bit of solidarity with the poor old mouldering pile of decay, over which people are now expending more energy in planning the appearance of an as-yet non-existent site than on actually writing anything.
My breath I cannot get. My Landlord I do not respect. My peers I'm sometimes none too sure about either.

I've got the e-mail now.
I didn't come anywhere near guessing the reason. This is probably because, in spite of having enough experience to know better, I'm still apparently oversetimating the intelligence of moderators.
They think it's plagiarised.
This is presumably because it's headed the "Inaugural Zeiss Lecture". For a while, it might just about pass muster as a major speech on global economics by some learned academic or other. Even then, a venue called Farnia Albione and an audience described as the Consiglio di Quercia sound a bit suspicious.
You needn't resort to an Italian dictionary to spot the spoof if you only read a bit further, though. The discourse gradually changes into Ziv, sounding off in the British Oak. OK, maybe the moderators don't read our Journals, but this is still very obviously some bloke holding forth in a pub.
And it's not even a good parody...

Well, it came back.
So I set out to edit the couple of typos I'd noticed, and as soon as I hit the Update button, it disappeared again.
This site is broken.

Glad it's not just me. Actually, when I think about it, no, I'm not.
The latest proof of terminal Site-Rot for me is the receipt of Scout e-mails thanking me for recommending Entries that I can't remember ever reading, let alone picking.
So either I'm senile, or Auntie is.

OK, not the ones I meant...
I can honestly say, GB, that it's quite seldom that I recommend your Entries without reading at least part of them first

Bel explained it.
I never guessed, but it seems to have been the name Zeiss that did it. They apparently have a problem with surnames that are usually associated with a commercial organisation.
So don't, whatever you do, go and write the definitive Guide Entry on Old McDonald's Farm or the planet Mars or virgins. And don't even think of referring to Ford Prefect.
