Scrof gave me special permission to take her to the cinema, on condition I didn't go on and on.

I enjoyed it. The makers took a few liberties, but why not?

It looks very good. Most of those images will do for me, to displace forever the horribly-dated TV series ones.

Not sure about the Heart of Gold. I came away with a strange urge to go and buy a washing machine. Come to think of it, Marvin looked as if he'd been styled by the Ford Motor Company and Deep Fried...sorry, Deep THOUGHT...was oddly reminiscent of a stack of fish fingers.

Some of the characters had a bit missing, I thought. Zaphod was vain and vacuous enough, but not sly enough. Ford wasn't earnest enough. Arthur was a bit too supine and cowardly. The simmering, impotent indignance got lost somewhere.

Trillian, the Vogons and Slartibartfast were near-perfect for me, though.

And I didn't go on and on. When Scrof asked what I liked best, I cheated and said the dolphins.
