The Weddell phoned while I was at work. She has a sweet manner. She was so pleased that I'd be spending more time with the family.
So why would that be the case, dearest?
Well, the good news is that the unexpected behaviour of the PC at home didn't result in a fire, and that the marks up the wall have more or less rubbed off. The budgie has finally calmed down too.
Aha.
Doesn't sound like a quick fix this time, somehow.

Sounds like friction burns on your MSporno-filter hardware. Didn't you apply the adhesive patch?

Woo-hoo!
I've got a new computer...I've got a new computer...I've got a new computer...
Waddya mean, so what?
I don't have to brave Scrofulina's room any more for one thing.
We're both quite relieved about that.

I like the idea of having the budgie in the same room to give you early warning of computer failure - sometimes the old ideas work the best...

Never thought of that...
The Weddell homeworks a good deal and uses this same desk, so she takes phonecalls with a berserk budgie screeching away. Nothing like the upkeep of professional standards, is there/it?
The budgie's called Noel. There was once a Liam too, but the lifestyle took its toll.
Waz is the budgie-storyteller, though, as you've presumably noticed.

Indeed - although I read Waz's piece without working out it was about budgies, first time round.
Some of the phone calls I get at work, it would be handy to pass them on to a budgie.
