First, pancakes, American style (with streaky bacon... Should've gotten a round meat, but BACON)smiley - drool

Then, smiley - football tournament for PaperKid's team. They went into the tournament undefeated, and left it the same waysmiley - wow In the dreich, no less, after a full season of dry games.

Then, my fertile chicken hatching eggs that I swapped a jar of blackberry jam and a jar of green beans for arrived! 11 Marans eggs, and 9 Sulmtaler eggs. Photos of the eggs (and the packing job, with commentary) can be seen at http://www.backyardchickens.com/t/1022588/chickens-in-ya-window/1820#post_15970550 I'll be splitting the eggs between my incubator and my broody hen after they have sat for a day, to rest (shipping is hard on eggs, even if they've been packed awesomely).

Then there was the team party--balloons, basketballs, skate wheels, , cookies...

When I have bacon I like to have it with a crispy round. I love to know what round bacon would like, does it look like anything like a gammon steak: http://www.stiltonbutchers.co.uk/uploads/images/products/product_100_2.jpg

Bacon can be round if it is Canadian Bacon

Y'see, it'd have to be either Canadian bacon, or not-bacon-at-all to be round--sliced sausage or the like.

Anyone interested in following the incubation of the eggs (and the comments of the peanut gallerysmiley - winkeye) can follow along at http://www.backyardchickens.com/t/1036123/the-hatch-that-byc-built-warning-pic-heavy

Too bad the timing doesn't allow for me to do it during NaJoPoMo, though the hatch date should be November 8.

No, not really--the incubator I have is pretty hands-off, even if I don't have an auto turner. If you mean incubating eggs for folks, my incubator only holds 10 chicken eggs (though I managed to get 11 in--if the eggs had all been the smaller ones, I could've gotten a full dozen in, I think).

And I meant to add that I changed the title of that incubating thread, which appears to have changed the url to http://www.backyardchickens.com/t/1036123/the-hatch-that-byc-built-aka-frieda-vs-the-brinsea-warning-pic-heavy

There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho

Every time this conversation jumps back to the top of my list I can't help remembering a certain late 1970s Manchester band that I used to listen to. Their name was Spherical Objects smiley - bigeyes

A memo was once to a mid grade civil servant, he thought it irrelevant so in the comments he wrote "round objects" and sent it on.

Later that week he received a reply asking the following 2 questions.

Who is Round, and to what does he object?

Civil service humour?

"Who is Round, and to what does he object?" [Bob Stafford]

A bit of useless movie trivia: In the film "Damsel in Distress," Gracie Allen happened to pass a display case that had the sign "Art objects." "Who is Art, and what does object to?" she asked, though I don't remember her exact words.

Not that it matters.

To me, the epitome of civil service comebacks is the time a man came to the local Social Security board and complained that he hadn't been receiving his checks.

"That's because you are dead," the clerk replied.
