Chickens that get cuddled by cute little girls are truly lucky!smiley - hug Chickens that also get a chance to poke around in grassy lawns are even luckier. Good work, Amy smiley - ok!

Chickens that poke around in grassy lawns and get table scraps are chickens that cost less to feedsmiley - winkeye And they're happier and healthier that way, toosmiley - ok

New photos with captions! http://www.backyardchickens.com/t/25/california-northern/46730#post_13269844 Tom was out of town last weekend, and brought home new chickens (that I'd arranged for with the lady he bought them from) Yes, that's a green egg, though http://www.backyardchickens.com/t/25/california-northern/46200#post_13220425 shows the color much better. The green egg was laid by the white and gray pullet--the brown pullet was hatched Christmas Day and won't be old enough to lay for a month or so. When she does, the previous owner thinks she'll lay either white or cream eggs--she's a mutt, so there's no way to be absolutely certain until she starts laying.

Actually, looks like Tom misremembered (or misheard)--the young one will likely be laying late summer.

How do the chickens feel about having their eggs taken from them?

Gnomon - time to move on

We were investigating buying a new guinea pig hutch. The company that sells them also does a lot of stuff for chickens. Here's something I didn't know there was a demand for: hi-vis jackets for chickens!

I will never make jokes about chickens again! Well, at least not in the next thirty minutes anyway smiley - blush.

Those are snazzy jackets. I bet dogs could wear them, too, at least dogs in the right size. Sadly, dogs *do* get killed n the road all too often, and could use high-visibility clothing.

They make visibility vests for dogs of all sizes.

There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho

I noticed a glaring typo in the bottom left-hand corner of the video. It said 'flowplayer' instead of 'fowlplayer'.

I'll get me coat smiley - run
