So... 11:30pm. I should probably think of posting something, huh?
Well, I got the foam stuff today and filled those gaps in the coop. It's supposed to rain later this week, so I guess I'll find out then if it worked. Or maybe I should just spray the hose on the roof... I priced the lumber I would maybe be using for the run as well, and the card wouldn't really go far towards that. So I decided clearing out the maybe-clematis (the flowers don't match *any* clematis images I can find) so I can see where I'd be building would be good--not only does the darn thing take up about 50 square feet after major hacking (it was overgrowing the not-greenhouse when we got the keys last year--from 10 feet away) but, if it *is* a clematis, it's toxic to chickens. I'm hoping the fact that I think I found the main stalk and cut it will slow regrowth down some--I only got about half of it today.
If you'd like to see photos of my chickens, go to http://www.backyardchickens.com/g/a/6579652/california-northern/ though there is no text with those. The thread those photos are embedded in kind of reminds me of the Salon--if the Salon had one major topic and if all the Salonistas were within a few hundred miles of each other. Heck, even there, the closest person is 2 hours away by car, and most are 5+ hours away

pebblederook-The old guy wearing surfer beads- what does he think he looks like? Posted Nov 11, 2013
Clematis loves being hacked down as it invigorates it. At least mine was! The only way I found to damage it in an environmentally friendly way was to cherish it. That guarantees that it will die.
