I lost my voice. I keep thinking it's back and saying a sentence or 2, then it leaves again. I *know* the best thing I can do is not use my voice, and use alternate forms of communication, but that doesn't work so well with someone preliterate--or with animals. Or while driving. At least I can whistle to get attention, but that backfires if I'm trying to draw attention to the fact that the dog wants out, and I'm in the middle of something
