h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Yep, I'm doing NaJoPoMo this year, too. So I guess, if nothing else, this proves I *haven't* fallen off the face of the --nor even h2g2 I probably would've tried it last year, but I'd fallen out of internet and didn't know anything about it until I had internet again a couple months later and had lots of extra backlog (which I thoroughly enjoyed--I think I had about a third to a half of the participants in my Friends List!)

I'm not doing any sort of theme--just my usual rambling. You know--planning to just say something quickly, and then deciding that it needs a little more explanation, and then it ends up being really long, with too many parenthesis, dashes, and ellipses... Or else planning a nice long journal entry while showering or otherwise far from being able to get online, and then either just posting something short and simple or not at all. 'Cept of course I can't do that second bit for the next month, unless I come up with something else... Or just some stream-of-consciousness. We'll see. I do know that I'm planning to pop over elsewhere online to try to lure some old friends that I think would enjoy h2g2 over here--maybe after a month of links, one or two might stick...

Of course, maybe putting my scheme out like that will now doom it to failure

This year's NaJoPoMo is covering some extra long days--Heleloo in Australia to myself in California and, unless I'm wrong, AE Hill even later in Hawaii (I thought I saw a reference somewhere--I don't really know AE well--I've seen the name around, but I'm not even sure what pronoun to use) I've also Friended all of this year's participants whom I haven't previously--some of whom I've known for years and thought I already had others I'd seen around for years but hadn't ever really talked to, because we travelled in different circles, or because I didn't think we would get along because of views, personality clashes, or whatnot (I'm sort of infamously conflict-avoidant, especially online, since I come here for fun and to see folks I've known longer than anyone I'm not related to (or might as well be, like friends of parents/grandparents)--without decades-long gaps), and some I've not really come across before for whatever reason. Who knows--I might just end up with more friends to rail against timezones, oceans, and continents over! I'm trying to remember to leave calling cards to let folks know I've read.

In completely other news, I've really got to remember not to let the girls slip the anything with grains in--she just fumigated the couch

Well, I should probably head off, so I don't end up going way long and using up topics

yay for Amy! We all missed you last year, and not just for this challenge.
I hope I have all the participants on my Friend's list too. It certainly introduced me to people last year that I hadn't come across.

Recurring theme? I'm going to fictionalize my life and call it "The perils of Paulh" so I can venture forth into the world intent on saving hurricane victims etc. and still fall off cliffs at the end of every journal.
