I was told on the 12th that my real license would arrive in the mail in 2-4 weeks. I just got back from checking the mail, and guess what had arrived? And the photo actually looks like me, too...

My goodness, In Australia when you get a Driving Licence, it is all processed and issued straightaway, card and all...

Well, probably at a bigger DMV office, I could've gotten the plastic license with the magnetic strip on the back and the picture and all the same day, but this office isn't set up for payment by credit card, even, the last I paid any attention... Then again, at an office in a bigger city, I would've had to do highway driving, instead of it being crossed off the test before ever going out to the car...

That IS a really good turn-around time. I think the best I have ever managed with a change of province, or a renewal, is about 5 weeks. And the pics ALWAYS make me look like a disgruntled postal worker, about to blow.
