flip flops
toiletries (comb, toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, body wash)
big loose shorts and h2g2 t-shirt
smiley - towel
couple of books
socks (don't think I'll need them, but everything I've read said chills are normal during labor, and I'd rather have them and not need them than vice-versa)
CDs (though I can't find my favorite onesmiley - sadface)
Discman (though I can't find the headphones, so missing a CD doesn't really matter, does it?)
breast pads
hot/cold pack
address book

Kaiser card
digital camera (not the mystery one, as I've not got it and the computer talking yet)
film camera (Tom finally found it! I knew it was in the house somewhere...)

That's an idea, if I can find one I like the scent of... (or I could throw in the lotion I've been using on my belly, but it's a bit strongly scented for my liking, although it soaks in great. It doesn't close very well, either...)

Well, at the childbirth class, it was suggested that if we take a lotion or creme in for massage, that we choose something unscented or lightly scented, because nausea is fairly common during labor...

You've been using a lotion on your belly?

I heard about a lady whose husband and father were two of the meanest people she had ever met. She didn't want her child to be like that so she went to an herbalist and asked what she could do to prevent it.

The herbalist gave her a cream and told her to rub it on her belly while she said, "Nice baby" over and over.

She did that, several times a day, every day for several months. Then she got more cream and continued in the same way for even longer.

After 9 months, she was enormous but she did not give birth. Still she used the cream.

After 2 more years, it was clear that the baby was still alive and growing but she would not allow surgical intervention and she kept using the cream and saying, "Nice baby".

Finally, after 18 years and weighing some 500 pounds the lady died, but all that time she had been saying, "Nice baby" and rubbing the cream on her now utterly enormous belly.

Since there was still ample evidence that the baby was alive, surgery was performed on her dead body and her womb was oppen up. There, to the surprise of all the medical staff were two 18 year old, perfectly formed and properly grown boys.

They were standing at the entrance to the womb repeating each to the other, over and over again, "After you. Oh, no. After you."

I'm sure Paperbaby will be a nice baby, too.

Luckily, all I've been using the lotion for is to try to stave off itchiness, because I'm not used to dry skin (I'm a little greaseball, I am!)
