Well, I made clear to both people that we're keeping Penny unless the owners contact us--she's not for sale! and there's no puppies...

Aha. Well, the first person that contacted me about buying puppies just tried to get me to open a bank account

I did get contacted today by a legitimate person with a dog that went missing in the area where Penny was found, but her dog's a yorkie mix. (I left size out of the ads, to use as an identifier)

Those evil spamming web-bots will get you every time!

...all this waiting is getting me worked up!!!

That lucky dog is going to have a good home no matter how things get resolved.

We consider Penny ours now, anyway--though if the owners contact us and want her back, we'll do the right thing, hard as it would be.

I really want her to be yours, such a good fit for all!


Some owners see the is better off and happy with a new family and leave them for various reasons. Could happenIf you move because of the possibility of Toms new job then I'd say she is yours for sure.

We had a cat that went missing a few years ago and spotted her in someone's house (they didn't bother to put out adds or anything). But she made them very happy and they really loved and it seemed like a great home, so we let them keep her... it does happen

I suppose I should update about Penny, on the off chance that anyone's been wondering...

The place we've been in for over a year now doesn't allow uncaged/untanked pets (guide dogs and such, yes, but that's different) so Tom's parents had been keeping her for us. A couple months ago, Penny disappeared. Faith still doesn't know (as far as I know--she may have been told this weekend when she was at her grandparents') No one's fault--not only could Penny get out of a collar tight enough to *look* too tight, but she could get out of a correctly adjusted harness!

Oh no. I hope you can find her.

It's been long enough that I doubt it... she probably hopped into a tourist's car or something. Technically, Thomas and Patty weren't supposed to have her at their place either, so we would've had to find her a home anyway (admittedly, for me, that was one of the reasons I was wanting to find a place to buy--not many pet-friendly rentals around here, at least not for a bigger dog)

oh dear... you poor things!

Maybe it's just the gypsy in Penny's soul. Some animals (including people) are born to wander.
