...I shall write of my experiences in New York.
The top male and female choirs at my school got invited to sing at Carnegie Hall by the head of the Vocal department at Eastern Michigan University. (Mainly because our director is his favorite student ever. )
We sang Beethovin's Mass in C last Sunday night, and it was an incredible experience. It went by so quickly though, I felt as though we walked onto the stage, then walked right off But the performance went very well. A couple of other choirs from Michigan and one from New Jersey were with us, along with the New England Chamber Orchestra.
After the concert, we went on a cruise in New York Harbor... this was the best part, in my humble opinion.
It happened immediately after the concert, so my choir, the Chamber Singers, were all in our tuxes, looking very stately. Two of my friends and I also purchased fine hats before we left. One got a Fedora, another a derby, and myself, a Top Hat.
We cavorted around the boat, taking pictures of the Statue of Liberty as we passed. Then belowdeck there was a DJ, and thus dancing ensued. I got the best complement anyone has ever given me at that point. "Tim, you're a really good dancer" This came as quite a shock considering I thought had White Man's Rhythm disease...
While we were in New York, we also saw a lot of Broadway Shows (I have something like 6 under my belt from last week)
All in all, it was an awesome experience.
