A Conversation for Mac or PC- which is better?

Well actually the Mac does have a right mouse click equivalent. Control-click does it. Of course, it doesn't work in ALL programs, but the Finder, IE, and many others do. Also, if you have a 3rd party mouse, you can set up the right-button to do this.
(I don't know why Apple doesn't just give it up and make 2 button mice standard).

Yep, I have an iMac - and a Logitech mouse (20 quid) which gives me a right-click and wheel, with the same functions as a PC mouse. Makes life much easier - there's little point having a fast machine if the human input is slow.
Worth adding to your entry that 3rd party mice make up for the inconvenience of the limited Mac mouse (which is obviously part of the experiment on humans), Munch.
Otherwise, lose the long introduction on transport and the entry becomes very interesting and readable. I enjoyed it very much.

Thanks but I'm well aware that there's control-click, I don't think I'd be qualified to write this article if I didn't use both OSs. What I THINK I said (can't quite remember) is that some people might find the difference confusing from PC. I know my mates do. Anyway, this article is due to be seriously refurbished soon, thanks for your feedback (Cheesy :D)

Um, yeah. I'm in the process of sub-editing it. See other thread...

Concerning the right-click - I have a two button mouse form my Mac. It lies disconnected on top of my scanner, because I don't really need it. I constantly have my hand over the keyboard, and 'Control' is right there. Also, most programs that you need and alternate click in will do that if you hold the button for about half a second, which is easy enough. But I just don't need the right click enough; the one button is enough for me, and I actually find it easier.

I totally agree with ThePixelGuru (MUG, SATS Member): I really don't see the point of a mouse with more than one key and I've got one! My USB single-button mouse broke and, while it was being repaired, i bought a Logitech mouse (well, it's more the size of a rat, actually): two buttons on top, one on the side and a scroll wheel. But I can do everything it does with a single-button mouse (other than scrolling, of course); which is not only easier to use, but also a lot more comfortable. The only advantage of the Logitech is that it is the cordless version, so I'm now on the lookout for a cordless single-button mouse (bet Apple gives one when the secon wave of flat-scree iMacs is released in about six month time!).

Yeah, they've got the single button optical now, but no cordless. How long to the batteries in cordlesses last? I heard its a pain from some people, and no problem from others.

If you use non-rechargeable batteries, you should probably consider egtting a bank loan. However, NiMH rechargeable batteries are excellent -- can be recharged hundreds, perhaps thousands of times, don't hav a memory, and can be used for everything. Fully charged NiMH actually last longer in everything that I use (including a digital camera, which is a real power drain) than standard batteries, so their apparently high purchase price is soon recuperated and from then on it's pure saving!
