Why is it torture? It's not brilliant but I wouldn't call it torture..
Now, 'Mamma Mia' combines ABBA and a story and would be considered torture in our house..

Nothing could induce me to watch Mama Mia!
I just shouldn't watch Richard Curtis films, they make me miserable, resentful and angry.

What is it about them that makes you cross? He's writing modern day fairy tales which I suppose is good enough. Or is it Hugh Grant? That enough to make anyone

oh I love the Hugh Grant thing - especially the dancing Prime Minister.
Love Actually is one of my favourite films and i also lurve Mama Mia!

I sort of liked Love, Actually. If I remember correctly. It's been a long time since I've seen it. As for Mama Mia, I started it and lasted about 20 minutes. I just couldn't get into it.

Blackadder - I love it but only have it on VHS cassette and no video player.
Until, that is you get to the very last episode. Then I weep and wail and it seems as if the whole series (all of 'em) are leading up to that one moment.
