You're doing well, Kelli!smiley - ok

Give your knee at least one day's rest, and then get yourself one of those elastic support things, not sure what they're called. Apply a cooling gel before going to bed (she posted, at stupid-o'clock-in-the-morning).

Cooling gel or a heating gel or an ibuprofen gel - they all work wonders.
Clicking isn't _necessarily_ a bad thing - most of my joints pop and click. But if you've not had it before it's probably an indicator of over-use, which a spot of rest should sort out.

What I want to know is - how and what are you going to program into a 6ish hour long playlist for The Walk itself?

I probably won't bother with an ipod on the day - I really much prefer to just look around and hear the sounds around me and the echos of my own thoughts.

Did 12 miles today, felt fine, am pretty convinced I could do this tomorrow if I had to. smiley - boing

Going to the craft shop today to get materials for decorating my bra

Oh and I bought a thin water and wind proof jacket, a proper spoorty one. I had to buy XL! was gutted, but then a size 12 is a medium according to these people, a 14 is a large and to accommodate the girls I needed a 16. That is all fine, and it comes in a little pouch about the size of a tennis ball - but for some reason (probably to do with picking in the warehouse smiley - grr) the pouch has XL on the *outside* for everyone to see. Most annoying.

I hate being XL for my chest when most of the rest of me is an M or an L.

But your training sounds as though it's going really well.

Good on you for doing 12 miles! That's more than I've ever managed for sure.

Suggest you simply decorate the pouch too and cover the XL - if you're decorating in the first place!

I'm pretty sure I wouldn't manage without the iPod - not for that amount of time.
When is the race again?

It isn't a race as such. It's on the 15th May, or strictly speaking the 16th of May from around midnight.

Am a bit achy today, my buttocks are a bit sore but that is a hang over from the LBT class on thursday where they we really worked them, and my left knee is tender too. I will have a couple of days off now and try to do some walking on tuesday.

Weighed myself this morning and saw my wedding day weight. If I manage to lose anything else after today then I will be the lightest I have ever been in my entire adult life smiley - cool

You're doing great kelli!smiley - ok

Be sure to measure yourself as well - if you're building muscle and losing fat, you might not see much difference in weight, but you will definitely see a difference in how slim your body has become.

Kelli, your weight loss is truly truly impressive. I can't believe how single minded you are doing that with everything else as well.

Hats off to you!
(sorry if that sounds patronising, it's not supposed to be)

Bottom ache - it's great isn't it?

Ti I'm pretty sure somewhere back in the thread I give Ismarah the exact same advice... smiley - biggrin

Thanks Sho. Had a depressing shopping trip just now though - I wanted some new pjs so went to Marks. The only non-old-lady ones had detailing that is supposed to sit under the bust. Sadly, my bust was several inches lower than the seams smiley - wah

Wish I was brave enough to consider a full body-lift when all this is all over.

don't let's go there. Anything I have that is supposed to be "below the bust" is a waste of time, apart from monster boobs I have a high waist.

In those instances only Bravissimo for the ultra-curvy can help.

Love love love the new tagline! smiley - bubbly

My healthy BMI is still a ways off, but it is heading in the right direction. I've not bothered measuring myself though - I make do with the weighing.

Hi there Kelli

Good luck with your Moonwalk next week.

Pardon me for butting in on your journl, but I just thought I’d let you know as I saw your post re the H2 London meet. Mrs Deke did the Moonwalk two years ago and earlier this year she volunteered herself and me to help out in this years event. We just got notified that we’ll probably be in the finish team, though I’ve no idea what job. So if we’re handing out goodie bags we’ll cheer you in.

Best of luck

Dekesmiley - cheers

Oh thanks Deke! I'm quite nervous now but looking forward to it. Have been struck down with tonsilitis this weekend but should be grateful it was not next weekend instead. I think I'll complete it in around 7.5 hours so will be very much looking forward to seeing you lot at the finish line at around 7am.

I'll be the one wearing a bra that looks like Ralph Wiggum made it... smiley - smiley

I don't know who it was that gave me my medal but she did have to give me a hug as I blubbed a bit!

Where were you stationed Deke? The volunteers on the night were all amazing, as a lone walker I was worried I would feel lonely in the crowd and it really made a difference to me when the volunteers called my name in encouragement. They must have been soooo cold standing there for so many hours but they all looked so cheerful. I hope I can volunteer if I don't actually do the walk next year smiley - cheers

Hi Kelli,

Well done on finishing. I took a peek at your pictures, you look great. smiley - magic

I was at the finish with Mrs D and another lady helper, ferrying armfuls of the silly magazine that took the place of a goodie bag. We were shifting them from near the tent to those that were handing them to the finishers behind the medal team. Our shift was took us overnight, up to 7 am, so I was probably there when you finished. But a bit ’behind the scenes’

Sorry I missed you but it looked as if Ralph Wiggum had a hand in the design of everyone’s bra. You can take only so much pink.

Deke smiley - ok
